Pro-Jonathan Rally in Abuja Suspended over Insecurity

A youth organization, the Youth Vanguard and Niger-Delta Youth Leaders Council (NDYLC), yesterday suspended a planned rally in Abuja in support of President Goodluck Jonathan’s reelection over insecurity.
The Patron of NDYLC, Mr. George Turnah, who addressed a press conference yesterday on the cancellation, said the rally was suspended as a show of sympathy for victims of recent Boko Haram attacks in some northern states.
“Our reasons for shelving the rally are to show solidarity with our brothers and sisters in the North who had come under attacks from Boko Haram during the last Ramadan festivities,” he said.
He added that Nigerian youths are prepared to give the President and Federal Government the needed support to conquer terror and insurgency in the country.
