A
Boko Haram suspect has said that members of the sect were meeting in the
uncompleted building in Apo, Abuja, where soldiers raided and killed eight
people in September 2013.
Mohammed
Adamu, made the confession on Tuesday before a panel of the National Human
Rights Commission (NHRC) investigating the alleged extra judicial killings. He
also revealed that the members met three times a week, between 8.00 pm and
11.00 pm daily.
Mr.
Adamu further revealed that the sect was planning to attack government
institutions in Abuja before they were arrested.
The
Executive Secretary of the Commission of NHRC, Professor Bem Angwe, afterwards
said “the commission will conclude its public hearing at the end of the month
and will make its findings public.”
