The Minister of
the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Sen. Bala Mohammed, applauded the
management of Baze University, a private university in Abuja, for the academic
excellence attained in its short period of its existence.
The minister
gave the commendation recently while at the institution to commission the new
hostels, and also expressed delight at the developments at the university.
"The
authorities have indeed surpassed my expectations,” he said.
Baze University
recently completed two blocks of 720 bed-space hostels, to add to the 500-bed
hostels already available, giving a total of over 1200 bed spaces.
In his address,
the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Michael Hodd, thanked the
minister for his continued support and noted the large increase in the
population of its students, from 17 students when it opened in 2011 to over 1,
000 students in 2013.
