The
Federal Government has revealed that 492 delegates are to take part in
the National Conference billed to hold later this year.
The
Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Anyim Pius
Anyim, who made the revelation in Abuja at a press briefing, said that
all stakeholders have 21 days to submit the list of their delegates that
would eventually make up a body of 492 members.
“The
body shall be known as the National Conference and shall sit in the
Federal Capital Territory (FCT),” Senator Anyim said. “It shall also
have powers to deliberate on every issue concerning the existence of the
nation with just one exception, the unity and continued existence of
the nation.”
The conference which is expected to last for three months, he said, would begin sitting as soon as the list was ready.
