A lawyer based in Abuja has sued MTN Nigeria
Communications Ltd for N20m for allegedly barring his phone line for five
months.
Haroun Eze filed a writ with the Federal High Court
in Abuja in December 2013 demanding compensation for the untold suffering,
embarrassment and loss of income he experienced because he was unable to
communicate with his clients, family and friends.
Eze said he registered his SIM card on June 29,
2013 but his line was barred between July 2 and November 20, 2013, and despite
calls and letters to MTN and the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC), which
is joined as defendant, his line was not reconnected.
A date is yet to be fixed for hearing.
