Nigerian Turkish Nile University Welcomes New Students

A ceremony to welcome new students to the Nigerian Turkish Nile University was held this morning at the university’s Abuja campus.
Staff, students, parents and guests converged on the school’s conference hall for the fourth Matriculation ceremony to usher 94 new students , who were chosen from thousands of applicants, into the Faculty of Science and Technology, Art and Social Sciences for the 2013/2014 academic year.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Huseyin Sert officially declared the programme open and encouraged students to develop self discipline and make use of the golden opportunity of being students at the NTNU.
NTNU, based in Jabi, opened with 23 students on a rented site at Cairo Street, Wuse 2, and has since expanded to three faculties and 16 departments, with a new faculty law and medical faculty building under construction to be opened next year.
NTNU is a member of the International Association of Universities and the Association of West African Universities. Its post-graduate school is due to begin this year.
