Censors Board Seizes Porn Worth N2.5m in Abuja

The National Film and Video Censors Board (NCVCB) said it has seized pirated and uncensored pornographic films worth about N2.5 million from various retail shops in Abuja.

Banex Plaza, Sheriff Plaza, Wuse II, and Dutse Alhaji market in the FCT were some of the commercial outlets that were raided and the films confiscated.

The Acting Head of Corporate Affairs for the NCVCB, Mr. Caesar Kagho said the confiscated films were illegal and were contributing negatively to the attitudes of the youths in the society.

He said the exercise was in line with the board’s commitment to rid the Nigerian markets of unwholesome films.

The NCVCB is responsible for censoring and classifying films and video, and also has the mandate of the registration and licensing of persons and premises for the distribution of films and videos in the country.
